The photocatalytic filter media is made from nano-sized titanium dioxide photocatalyst, and advanced nanotechnology is employed to ensure that the photocatalyst is uniformly deposited in fine particles on the surfaces of various materials.
Photocatalysis utilizes solar light, fluorescent lamps, and ultraviolet light as energy sources to excite electrons from the valence band to the conduction band, thereby generating corresponding holes in the valence band. This process produces highly oxidizing reactive oxygen species and hydroxyl radicals, which oxidize and decompose harmful organic compounds such as formaldehyde, methylamine, benzene, xylene, and TVOCs, as well as other pollutants, odors, and bacteria, into harmless CO2 and H2O, thus achieving air purification and the degradation of harmful organic substances.
Conventional filter media made from activated carbon and catalysts rely on the consumption of the filter medium to purify air, resulting in limited long-term effectiveness. In contrast, photocatalytic filter media utilize a photocatalyst that serves solely as a reaction site and does not itself participate in chemical reactions, thereby enabling long-term performance. Photocatalysis is internationally recognized as an environmentally friendly technology that does not generate secondary pollution.
